Anthony says his name

Friday, June 20th, 2008

I haven’t been very good at keeping this updated. The big thing this week is that Anthony will look at a picture of himself and say “Anthony” rather than “me” or “baby”. He’s responded to his name for a long time, but this past week he really started saying his name.

His obsession currently seems to be fire trucks. From about February through the beginning of May he was obsessed with school buses, and we had to watch these school bus videos on YouTube over, and over… and over. Around mid-March he fell in love with the Pixar movie Cars, so we were watching it at least once a day, sometimes more. That’s tapered off now and he just loves any type of truck. There are also some Blue Angels videos on YouTube he loves. His favorites of the moment are fire trucks, Banana Phone (“ring, ring, mone” as Anthony sings it), garbage trucks, and planes.

What a Day!

img_0463.JPGToday Anthony really crawled for the first time! He also sat up by himself AND pulled himself up to a standing position without help. Whew! I’m exhausted from chasing him around all day!

Sunday, October 29th, 2006

It rained a lot yesterday and we all went to lunch at the Italian restaurant for lunch. Anthony sat in the high chair at the table with Mommy and me and flirted with the waitress. Then we came home, intending to go out shopping, but Anthony was tired so he took a nap with Mommy. He was so tired he slept until 9 PM, so we didn’t really do anything else yesterday.

Today we went to Trader Joe’s and then to Waldbaum’s. We got a bunch of things at TJ’s, but the real big news there was that Anthony sat in the shopping cart like a big boy! Mommy wants one of those protective covers so he doesn’t have to touch the filthy cart, but TJ’s carts are pretty clean. We’ll still get one of the covers though. At Waldbaums Mommy just ran in to see if they had Anthony’s formula, which is on sale for $8.99, but they didn’t so we got some rain checks. We were going to go to the other Waldbaum’s to look, but Anthony was uncomfortable in his car seat – he doesn’t fit in it anymore – so we came home and started pricing a new car seat. Looks like we’re going to go with the Britax Roundabout. It was well-reviewed on Consumer Reports and everywhere else and costs about $200 or so. Hopefully this will last him a long time (supposed to be to 30 lbs.).

I’m going to have to see if there’s a good way to include images in these posts outside of raw HTML < img > tags.
