Anthony Hoffman

Anthony can spell his own name now. He knew “ANT” for a while, and if you told him the “ANT” he could do the rest, but now he does the whole thing without any help. Yay!

Anthony got a new bike as a reward for using the potty. He was actually pedaling pretty well!

Door nog = doorknob.
Olg = old.
Crap-pa = Grandpa.

Finally! I had to kind of trick him into it, but Anthony made poop in the potty! He was taking a bath and got up crying that he needed a diaper. I told him to sit on the potty while I got up and looked for a diaper. I ran out of the bathroom and pretended to run around looking for one. I listened at the door and I heard him whining that he needed a diaper… and then I heard him making it. Much rejoicing ensued, and then we gave him Big Kula, the big stuffed dog from Ikea that he’s been wanting for months, and plays with every time we go there.

As soon as he got out of the tub he asked for a diaper, but that’s fine, at least he used the potty once.

Anthony wrote cat all by himself on his Magna Doodle. He wrote it backwards though. I was still pretty impressed. I think this happened on Sunday.

Anthony is doing well with making peepee in the potty. He went twice at Ikea yesterday. I can’t tell you how much fun this is.

Mommy got out of the car to go look at a yard sale. She returns to the car empty handed.

Anthony: “What happened mommy?”
Mommy: “They didn’t have anything.”
Anthony: “It’s crap?”

I guess this doesn’t sound like a big deal but it is. Anthony finally tried (and succeeded) making peepee in the potty. It was awesome.

So we go to the new house to wait for the Keyspan guy to come turn the gas and lights on. Anthony’s been talking about going to the new house nonstop for a week, so he and my wife came too. He was waiting in the car with my wife and when the lights finally came on (which we weren’t sure they would) my wife said “Oh thank you Jesus.” A couple minutes later the Keyspan guy comes out of the house and goes back to his truck and Anthony says to my wife “Jesus needs something from his truck?”

Anthony now enjoys putting on his own shirt and shorts. He loves it when I tell him he is “independent.” He also makes lots of peepee in the potty, but that’s it. He successfully spelled “apple” and “baby” from memory. Also some other stuff that I can’t remember.
